Introduction

Loknete Marutraoji Ghule Patil Dnyaneshwar Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd., was established in 1973, in backward and project effected area of Jaikwadi Dam Irrigation Project of  Ahilyanagar, under the able leadership of Loknete Marutrao Ghule Patil, the Founder Chairman of this Karkhana. Karkhana is registered in Co-op. Sector under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960, vide Registration No. ANR/PRG(A) –5(S) dated 19-10-1970.

Prior to the establishment of this factory there was no sugar factory in the area of Shevgaon and Newasa Talukas of Ahilyanagar. Since the Mula Dam Irrigation facilities made available in Two Talukas, the sugarcane potentiality was increased and till increasing continuously, the other sugar factories then existing were drawing cane from this area. But, the  position of lifting the sugarcane by them was very worst and cane growers in this area were at the mercy of them. On the basis of this background the small holders of Newasa & Shevgaon Talukas of  Ahilyanagar came together under the dynamic Leadership of Loknete Marutraoji Ghule Patil and laid the foundation of this Karkhana on 19-10-1970.

Loknete Marutraoji Ghule Patil is Chief Promoter / Founder of this sugar factory. He was pioneer & founder of various co-operative institutions including but not limited to sugar factory, primary development society, marketing societies, Ginning & Pressing society, Co-operative banks etc. He was a man of eminent personality a great co-operative leader, a great vision who was totally committed to the social economic & educational development of the Jaikwadi project affected people. He has devoted his life for the uplifment of the masses. His sad demise was occurred on 8th July -2002. The name of social reformer is memorable task forever for the community.
